This is principally about my work.
I am a materials scientist by formation and have more than 20 years of professional experience in the field of mechanical and damage characterisation of composite materials, non-destructive testing, biomimetics and bio-inspired design.
My main fields of expertise are in impact behaviour of composite materials, natural fibre composites and acoustic emission monitoring, with about 125 publications, including journal papers, book chapters and conference papers. The site also deals with my family history.

After many years spent in different UK universities, the longest period in Reading, I am currently researching and lecturing in Universita' di Roma La Sapienza and in Seconda Universitą di Napoli (SUN).
